On Saturday, December, 16th, we celebrated the traditional Christmas Dinner at Hotel Barceló Sants de Barcelona. Each time we gather more and more people and enjoy this highlight date: On this occasion we were 494 people, among persons under the support our entity, volunteers, guests, members of Patronage, and professionals. This year, thanks to the celebration of our 30th anniversary of Som – Fundació, we gave the welcome to Ramón Lamiel, manager of Institut Municipal de Persones amb Discapacitat, and Àngels Betriu, responsible of the Comissió d’Assessorament i supervisió de les Persones Jurídiques sense Ànim de Lucre that have been attributed the Guardianship of Minors and Incapacitated People.
Before the proper dinner, Anna Sánchez, responsible of the Programme of Volunteers, had a meeting with six volunteers, under the support of our entity, that take part in the project #ICanAlso be a volunteer, in order to coordinate the tasks to be carried out.
At the dessert time, Jordi Costa, president of Som – Fundació, asked for the presence of the volunteers to thank them their big task with the persons with intellectual disabilities in the different activities that they share with them.
Later, the 7 finalists of the III Christmas Postcards Contest and the 3 winners received their awards and presents.
And, then, we arrived at the most expecting moment of the Christmas Dinner: the gift delivery. With the first notes of the song Celebration by Kool & The Gang, the staff of the Foundation appeared dancing to the rhythm of the music with their bags full of presents and started to give them to the people.
At the end of the dinner, everyone had the chance to take a photo of themselves using a wide range of props.
It was a very warm celebration, and we had the opportunity of sharing it with all the persons that are part of Som – Fundació.
¡Thanks to everybody who has made it possible!
